Tread the streets of the legendary Troy of Homer’s ‘Iliad’, or exotic Constantinople (Istanbul), capital of the eastern Roman Empire, or perhaps travel to the reputed resting place of Noah’s Ark. Visit the secluded spot where Mark Antony and Cleopatra met and married, the town where Saint Nicholas (Santa Claus) lived, the final home of the Virgin Mary, and follow the trail of the seven churches mentioned in the testaments. Travel along the Old Silk Road of Marco Polo, sail the incomparable turquoise waters of the Aegean, and sample food fit for a sultan.

Lying at the eastern extreme of the Mediterranean, Turkey is dominated by mountains in the east along the Iranian border giving rise to harsh, cold and snow-bound winters. However, summers are warm and enhance any visit during this time to the Black Sea coastal regions. In the central Anatolian highlands you will experience warm summers with cool nights.

It is along the Mediterranean coastline that many visitors are attracted to, given the natural beauty and the sub-tropical climate. Summers are warm and dry and winters can be cool, wet and sometimes windy.
